Control over compliance with the Uzbek language in state organizations will be strengthened
Additional measures have been identified to effectively organize work in the state language in state bodies and organizations in Uzbekistan and ensure compliance with the rules of the Uzbek language. State language advisors will monitor the implementation of legislation and examine the compliance of documents, external inscriptions and advertisements with language standards.
Control over the use of the Uzbek language in state organizations will be strengthened.
Resolution No. 437 of the Cabinet of Ministers of August 7, 2026 established additional measures to effectively organize work in the state language in the republic.
According to the resolution, the position of advisor to the head on issues of spirituality and the state language was introduced in the central offices of state bodies and economic associations at the republican level, in the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, in the regions and the city of Tashkent, as well as in district and city khokimiyats.
Their activities are coordinated and methodologically managed by the Department for the Development of the State Language of the Cabinet of Ministers. Advisors are appointed and dismissed by the head of the relevant organization in agreement with the Department.
One of the main tasks of advisors is to ensure compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the state language, geographical objects, and the spiritual and educational sphere. Measures will also be taken to conduct linguistic examination of draft regulatory legal acts.
In addition, external inscriptions, signs, announcements, advertising and display information materials in state agencies will be monitored for compliance with legislative requirements.
The resolution also establishes that the heads of state bodies, organizations, business associations and other organizations are responsible and personally liable for compliance with legislative requirements regarding the state language.
It is also envisaged that monitoring work will be carried out in state bodies and organizations on a competitive basis on compliance with legislative requirements regarding increasing the efficiency of work in the state language.
