The next India-Central Asia summit is scheduled to be held in India in 2027. This information was announced by Sibi George, Secretary (Western) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, during a press briefing on the results of the Indian Prime Minister's state visit to Uzbekistan.

As Sibi George reported, the decision to hold the summit was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The diplomat expressed India's hope for continued active engagement with its Central Asian partners to deepen cooperation and elevate the partnership to a qualitatively new level, specifically noting Uzbekistan as an extremely important partner for India in this process.

Sibi George also emphasized that the Prime Minister's visit to Uzbekistan has given new impetus to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. According to him, elevating the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, along with the concrete results achieved in areas such as education, trade and commerce, culture, traditional medicine, ecology, and humanitarian contacts, forms a reliable foundation for further expansion of bilateral cooperation.

As a reminder, the first India-Central Asia summit was held online in January 2022 and was attended by the President of Uzbekistan.
