Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan from August 29 to 30. During his visit to Tashkent, he is scheduled to meet with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and visit a local university, according to Indian Foreign Secretary Sibi George.
This will be Modi's fourth visit to Uzbekistan. During the upcoming talks, the two sides will focus on key aspects of bilateral cooperation. The agenda includes areas such as trade and investment, critical minerals, healthcare, and education.
Additionally, they plan to discuss cooperation in space and technology, as well as in culture and other areas of cooperation between India and Uzbekistan.
The two sides will also exchange views on advancing shared approaches to development, as reflected in the Viksit Bharat 2047 and Uzbekistan 2030 programs.
The Indian Prime Minister is expected to visit the Shastri Memorial in Tashkent and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre, located at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
Following his visit to Uzbekistan, Narendra Modi will travel to Kyrgyzstan, where he will attend the 26th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) from August 31 to September 1.
