The higher medical escort work education direction will be introduced

The higher medical escort work undergraduate education direction will be introduced.

According to the Presidential decree, starting from the 2027/2028 academic year, the minimum threshold for admission to undergraduate education directions, including within the framework of targeted admission parameters, in higher education organizations training personnel in the medical and pharmaceutical fields will be set at 60 percent of the maximum score required to be collected in the entrance exams.

Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, in the medical and pharmaceutical fields:

- the minimum passing scores in mastering the academic indicators of each educational module in undergraduate education directions, master's and residency programs, as well as in state exams, will be set at 70 percent of the highest score for medical specialties, and 60 percent for mid-level medical worker specialties;

- (additional) specialization in narrow fields through short-term retraining courses or programs will be canceled;

- admission to primary targeted specialization courses (internship) will be canceled.

Starting from the 2027/2028 academic year, the medical escort work specialty will be introduced on the basis of the nursing professional education specialty, and the higher medical escort work undergraduate education direction will be introduced on the basis of the higher nursing undergraduate education direction. Hereby:

- women who graduate from the medical escort work specialty and the higher medical escort work undergraduate education direction will be awarded the qualification of a female nurse (hamshira), and men will be awarded the qualification of a male nurse (tibbiyot og‘asi);

- state order admission parameters in the higher medical escort work undergraduate education direction will be increased annually by at least 20 percent until the 2030/2031 academic year.
