Distribution of nearly 2 kg of narcotics halted in Tashkent city and region

A series of consecutive operational-search activities aimed at detaining members of a drug-related criminal group was carried out in Tashkent city and region. As a result, the distribution of nearly 2 kilograms of narcotics among the population was prevented.

In Tashkent region, brothers born in 1965 and 1961, previously convicted, working as a storekeeper and a drug courier, were detained while attempting to flee in an Orlando vehicle after retrieving 550 grams of mephedrone hidden in a field area in the Bektemir district. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they operated in criminal partnership under the instructions of a drug shop curator.

Following this, activities aimed at identifying and detaining other members of the drug-related criminal group were continued in Tashkent city. In the Yunusobod district, 202 grams of mephedrone were found on a previously convicted individual born in 1992, and another 200 grams of mephedrone, scales, "zip" bags, and electrical tape intended for packaging were found in his residence. In the next activity, a previously convicted "dropper" (zakladchik) of the same group was detained while retrieving 50 grams of mephedrone from a location left by the curator.

In an activity conducted in the Sergeli district to halt the group's activities, 280 grams of "Alpha-PVP", 300 grams of mephedrone, and 81 grams of hashish were discovered in the residence of a girl born in 2008.

At the conclusion of the conducted operational-search activities, a total of nearly 2 kilograms of narcotics were seized as material evidence, and the group's activities aimed at distributing narcotics were halted. Criminal cases have been initiated regarding the situations under Article 273, Part 5, Paragraph "a" of the Criminal Code.
