The Deposit Guarantee Agency of Uzbekistan studied Armenia's experience in deposit guaranteeing
On August 26–27, a delegation of the Deposit Guarantee Agency of Uzbekistan paid a working visit to Yerevan, during which it got acquainted with Armenia's practical experience in the field of deposit guaranteeing.
The trip was organized on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed in 2025, and was aimed at exchanging practical experience between the parties.
The negotiations were attended by representatives of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia and specialists of the Central Bank of Armenia responsible for financial stability, crisis management, consumer protection, and financial literacy.
During the meetings, the Uzbek delegation studied the regulatory and legal framework of the Armenian deposit guarantee system, as well as internal documents regulating investment activities.
Special attention was paid to the principles of forming an investment portfolio, the list of permitted financial instruments, and mechanisms for assessing and managing credit, market, operational, and liquidity risks.
The parties also exchanged experience in diversifying the investment portfolio, its revaluation, applying a system of limits, and conducting stress testing.
In turn, representatives of the Deposit Guarantee Agency of Uzbekistan spoke about the practical experience gained in 2026 during the organization and implementation of compensation payments to depositors after the revocation of the license of one of the commercial banks.
As part of the working visit, the delegation also got acquainted with the activities of the Visitor Center and the Museum of the Central Bank of Armenia.
Following the meetings, the parties agreed to continue regular dialogue within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation and to expand the exchange of practical experience in the field of deposit guaranteeing.
