The Kashkadarya Regional Department of Ecology demanded the recovery of 8.8 billion soums from the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department for environmental pollution, but the court dismissed the main part of the lawsuit. As a result, only 676 thousand 133 soums are subject to recovery.

The court concluded that the supervisory authority had exceeded the scope of the inspection, and the calculations for the main part of the claims were not supported by sufficient evidence. In addition, it was taken into account that it is unacceptable to use evidence obtained in violation of the law.
As a reminder, in April, the Eco-police identified violations of atmospheric air protection requirements at the enterprise, as well as non-compliance of dust and gas cleaning equipment and wastewater treatment facilities with environmental standards. At that time, the enterprise was issued 16 mandatory instructions and assessed additional compensatory payments.
