The Children's Ombudsman inspected a temporary detention facility in Angren

The Children's Ombudsman conducted a monitoring study at the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Angren, Tashkent Region. At the time of the inspection, there were no minors in the facility.

During the inspection, the conditions in the cells intended for holding minors were studied, including the state of sleeping places, the organization of meals, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, and the procedure for providing medical assistance. The facility is designed for 51 people, and a separate cell is allocated for minors. Based on the results of the inspection, it was established that the basic conditions meet the minimum standards, but a number of deficiencies were identified.

In particular, the need to replenish the stock of medicines in the medical office, to provide the facility with a medical worker, and to update the sets of bedding in use was noted.

In addition, a need to update the library collection and to allocate a separate room for minors to meet with relatives was recorded. Based on the results of the monitoring, the Children's Ombudsman sent recommendations to the management of the facility to ensure the rights of minors.
