The Children's Ombudsman held a personal reception of citizens on issues of protecting children's rights

The Children's Ombudsman of Uzbekistan held another personal reception of citizens dedicated to the protection of the rights and interests of children. During the meeting, appeals related to guardianship, the right to education, and ensuring the safety of minors were reviewed.

In particular, the Ombudsman was approached by the grandmother of two children who, following their mother's death, were placed under their father's guardianship by a court decision. According to her, he does not participate in their upbringing and fails to fulfill his parental duties, even though the younger child requires special care and specialized education. An application was also received from a father who is seeking custody of his children after a divorce and requested the participation of a representative of the Children's Ombudsman in the court proceedings.

In addition, an appeal was recorded regarding the restoration of the right to education for the child of a citizen of Uzbekistan living in Russia, who is not providing the child with school education.

In another case, a parent reported harm caused to a child's health in a preschool educational institution and requested assistance in obtaining security camera footage and holding the responsible parties accountable.

On all received facts, the Children's Ombudsman has initiated a systematic study of the situations within the scope of her powers in order to provide practical assistance and protect the rights of the children.
