The business program of the C5+1 forum has kicked off in Samarkand with the participation of over 400 companies
On October 19, the business program of events in the "C5+1" format, organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the American Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan, launched in Samarkand. The first event was the "Welcome & Orientation" introductory session, which outlined the key goals and directions of the program.
This year, the program events are timed to coincide with the visit of the US delegation led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will personally take part in them, along with representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian countries and over 400 companies, including 200 leading enterprises of Uzbekistan.
The introductory session was opened by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov. In his speech, he noted the importance and significant strengthening of economic ties between the countries of Central Asia and the United States. Among the priority areas of this mutual cooperation, Kudratov highlighted joint investment initiatives, the adoption of modern technologies, and the development of industrial cooperation. US Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Fogel and executives of major American companies "Wabtec", "Franklin Templeton", "Traxys", and "Aquatech" also spoke during the session.
The main objectives of the business program have been defined as expanding trade, attracting capital, and strengthening long-term economic partnership between the US and the states of Central Asia. All subsequent sessions within the program will be held across six main areas: digital technologies, education and healthcare, mineral resources and the mining industry, energy and transport infrastructure, agriculture and textiles, as well as finance and investment.
In addition to sector-specific sessions, the program includes bilateral B2B (business-to-business) and B2G (business-to-government) meetings, during which representatives of business and government entities will be able to discuss specific investment proposals and terms for joint projects.
