Zarafshan's borders to be expanded at the expense of Tamdy district lands

At the 19th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the issue of changing the administrative borders of the city of Zarafshan and the Tamdy district of the Navoiy region was considered.

The resolution of the upper house of parliament provides for the transfer of 2,459 hectares of land from the Tamdy district to Zarafshan. This decision is aimed at the comprehensive development of the city, the effective use of its economic potential, and the creation of new jobs.

It is planned to implement more than 250 industrial and manufacturing projects, construct 90 social facilities, and open over 500 retail and service outlets in the annexed territories.

The expansion of the borders will make it possible to meet Zarafshan's growing demand for housing and to modernize its engineering and communication infrastructure. Residential areas will be built on the new lands, and water supply, electricity, sewerage, and road networks will be laid.

The senators noted that the integration of the territories requires a planned approach and should not be limited to administrative changes alone, but must ensure the creation of a fully-fledged social and transport environment for the population.

Following the discussion, the Senate adopted the corresponding resolution.
