The average passing score for university entrance exams was revealed

The average passing scores for entrance exams to higher education institutions have been announced. The average passing score for the new academic year on the basis of a state grant was 134.6 points, and on the basis of a fee-based contract - 93.7 points. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Sardor Rajabov at a press conference in Tashkent on August 18.
According to the "Daryo" correspondent, the ministry representative noted that the passing scores for the current exams have increased.
According to the Deputy Minister, "According to the results of the final selection, the average passing score on the basis of a state grant was 134.6 points, and on the basis of a fee-based contract - 93.7 points. In the last academic year, these indicators were 121.8 and 84.9 points, respectively. This year, the competition among applicants has intensified even more."
Based on the results of the final selection, a total of 209.1 thousand applicants were recommended for undergraduate studies. Of these, 52.8 thousand were able to study on the basis of a state grant, and 156.3 thousand were able to study on the basis of a fee-based contract. Also, 20.5 thousand applicants were admitted as students within the framework of separate admission indicators for established benefits.
Earlier, in an interview with Daryo, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kungirotboy Sharipov, said that there is no need to open a new university at this time.
