The mandate in Uzbekistan will be announced on August 15

The results of the entrance tests for bachelor's degrees in higher education institutions in Uzbekistan for the 2026/2027 academic year will be announced on August 15. This was announced by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kungirotboy Sharipov in an interview with the "Daryo" correspondent.

According to the minister, over the past four years, the share of applicants who scored less than 56.7 points in the entrance exams has significantly decreased. Four years ago, this figure was 46 percent, but now it has dropped to 34 percent. At the same time, 74 percent of applicants scored above 56.7 points.

Sharipov noted that not all school graduates are required to receive higher education. In his opinion, the need for higher education in the labor market is about 30 percent, and the remaining 70 percent of young people should be prepared through secondary specialized education.

The Minister noted the importance of taking into account the needs of the labor market in the admission process to higher education. This year, 36 thousand places were allocated on the basis of a state grant, while about 200 thousand places were formed on a contract basis. Admission indicators are determined based on the directions and the number of specialists in demand.

It was also announced that new educational directions are being opened in some universities this year that meet the requirements of the labor market.

We recall that the results of the competition for entrance tests to bachelor's degrees in higher educational institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year in Uzbekistan were announced on August 13.
