Thailand changes entry rules for citizens of Uzbekistan
Starting September 15, citizens of Uzbekistan will need to obtain a visa in advance for a tourist trip to Thailand. The 60-day visa-free regime will be abolished.
Thailand is changing the entry procedure for citizens of Uzbekistan.
Starting from September 15, 2026, citizens of Uzbekistan will be required to obtain a visa in advance to travel to Thailand for tourist purposes. From this date, the current 60-day visa-free entry and the Visa on Arrival procedure will be canceled. This was reported by the press service of Uzbekistan Airways.
Until September 14, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to enter Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days.
After the new rules come into force, a tourist visa will be required to be obtained before departure. The application can be submitted, including through the official system thaievisa.go.th.
It should be noted that there is no possibility to pay the visa fee online through the site. The fee must be paid in US dollars at the nearest Thai consulate.
Uzbekistan Airways asks passengers of flight HY531 to pay special attention. This flight is scheduled to depart Tashkent on September 14 and arrive in Bangkok on September 15. Therefore, passengers on this flight must comply with the new visa requirements.
Passengers are advised to take these changes into account when planning their travel and purchasing airline tickets. Failure to comply with the new requirements may result in denial of check-in or entry into Thailand.
