Test: Do you know Shukur Burhonov's films?

In addition to films such as "Yor-yor", "Sinchalak" and "Boy ila xizmatchi", Shukur Burhonov, who contributed to the development of Uzbek theater and cinema with his roles in many plays, would have turned 116 years old on September 15. In connection with this date, Gazeta prepared a quiz based on the films in which the actor starred.

Shukur Burhonov was born on September 15, 1910, in the city of Tashkent. He graduated from the Moscow Theater Studio in 1927, and studied at the studio under the Tashkent Drama Theater from 1929 to 1931. In 1927, he joined the troupe of the State Uzbek Theater.

He participated in stage plays such as "Yondiramiz" ("We Will Burn"), "Vayrona" ("The Ruin"), and "Nomus va muhabbat" ("Honor and Love"). He also performed roles in the plays "Dengizdagilar uchun" ("For Those at Sea"), "General Rahimov", "Sharq tongi" ("Dawn of the East"), "Revizor" ("The Government Inspector"), and "Yo‘lchi yulduz" ("Guiding Star"). In addition to "Muqanna", "Jaloliddin Manguberdi", "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet", and "Julius Caesar", he also created memorable characters in "Mirzo Ulug‘bek" and "Oedipus Rex" ("Shoh Edip").

Shukur Burhonov starred in the films "Tohir va Zuhra" in 1945, and "Boy ila xizmatchi" ("The Bey and the Servant") and "Yangi uy" ("Novosele" / "Housewarming") in 1953–1954. Between 1961 and 1966, he played roles in "Yor-yor" ("Yor-yor"), "Vijdon amri bilan" ("Navstrechu sovesti" / "Meeting Conscience"), "Komandirning qaytishi" ("Vozvrasheniye komandira" / "The Commander's Return"), and "Vatan o‘g‘lonlari" ("Sini otechestva" / "Sons of the Fatherland").

The film "Sinchalak" ("Ptichka nevelichka" / "Little Bird") featuring the actor, who also participated in movies such as "Qora konsulning o‘limi" ("Gibel Chyornogo konsula" / "The Death of the Black Consul") and "Xotira bog‘i" ("Rosha pamyati" / "The Grove of Memory"), won international awards in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, while "Ulug‘bek yulduzi" ("Ulugbek's Star") won in Kyiv.

The Honored Artist of Uzbekistan passed away in 1987.
