Telegram "bookmark" network exposed
As a result of urgent measures, about 1 kilogram of hashish and drugs for drug use were seized.
A large criminal group involved in drug trafficking through the "zakladka" method on Telegram was exposed in the Navoi region. This was reported to "Xabar.uz" by Fayozjon Qosimov, head of the regional Department of Internal Affairs' information service.
Based on an appeal received by the Department for Combating Cybercrime, an operational event was held in cooperation with employees of the Navoi region Department of Internal Affairs' Central Intelligence Agency and the regional Department of the State Security Service. Initially, the leaders of the group who distributed drugs through the "zakladka" method on Telegram were detained. After that, operational events continued to identify other participants in the criminal chain.
During the events, the suspects' residences and means of communication were checked. As a result, two warehousemen of the group, two "zakladchiks" who hid drugs and provided address and location information, 8 drug couriers, and 11 of their clients were identified and arrested.
As a result of urgent measures, about 1 kilogram of hashish and improvised devices for drug use were seized as evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated against the members of the criminal group under the relevant paragraphs of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigations are currently ongoing.
