Tashkent Intends to Increase the Number of Metro Stations to 79 by 2030

By 2030, the Tashkent Metro plans to expand its network to 79 stations, increase the total line length to 103 kilometers, and boost daily passenger traffic to 1.8 million people.

This was announced at a press conference dedicated to the development of the capital's metro.

Currently, the Tashkent Metro has 50 stations, with a total line length of 71 kilometers.

Plans also include reducing train intervals to two to three minutes. Daily passenger traffic is expected to grow from the current more than 1.2 million to 1.8 million people per day.

The expansion of the metro is driven by the capital's population growth, urban territory development, and the emergence of new residential and industrial areas. The program provides for the construction of new sections, fleet modernization, the introduction of digital technologies, and the improvement of the management system.

Over the past seven years, the capital's metro has added 21 stations, and the length of its lines has grown by 33 kilometers. Daily passenger traffic has increased from 280,000–300,000 people in 2021 to more than 1.2 million in 2026.
