A new record for the number of passengers was recorded in the Tashkent metro
A record level of passenger transportation was recorded in the Tashkent metro on September 14.
On that day, the new academic year began for second-year and higher-level students in all higher education institutions. Therefore, as expected, the demand for public transport, especially the services of the Tashkent metro, increased significantly. According to the data, 1,165,550 passengers used the metro services during September 14. The previous highest figure was recorded on May 8, 2026, when 1,117,061 passengers used the services of the Tashkent metro.
The high flow of passengers was observed at the "Chinor", "Sergeli", "Choshtepa", "Olmazor", "Chilonzor", "Buyuk ipak yo'li", "Do'stlik" and "Beruniy" metro stations.
According to the monitoring and analysis conducted by experts, the growth trend of passenger flow is expected to continue in the future. In particular, the daily number of passengers is expected to reach 1,200,000 in October. At the same time, the Tashkent metro plans to identify the 1,200,000th passenger and present this passenger with a special privilege or gift. This initiative is intended to be organized as a unique incentive and symbolic event for passengers.
The report notes that in conditions of an ever-increasing flow of passengers, work on the gradual renewal of the metro's rolling stock is also being continued in order to provide more convenient and high-quality services to the population. The movement of trains is being promptly coordinated based on the real situation of the passenger flow.
