Tashkent Hokim Orders Allocation of 5 Billion Soums to Pakhtakor Football Club
The Pakhtakor football club will receive 5 billion soums from the Tashkent Development Fund. These funds will cover the team's expenses in accordance with the approved estimate. The relevant decision by the capital's hokim, Shavkat Umurzakov, was made on October 29.
According to the document, the initiative to allocate the money was put forward by the Municipal Assets Management Center under the Tashkent Hokimiyat and the football club itself.
Dilshod Khudoybergenov, First Deputy Hokim for Finance, Economy, and Poverty Reduction, was instructed to submit a corresponding proposal for consideration by the Supervisory Board of Toshkent Invest JSC. In turn, the company will have to ensure the allocation of 5 billion soums to Pakhtakor.
The Municipal Assets Management Center must also take measures to increase its share in the charter capital using the allocated funds and ensure their targeted use. The expenditure of the money will need to be reported to the Tashkent City Kengash of People's Deputies.
Earlier, the media repeatedly reported on Pakhtakor's financial difficulties. In particular, in May 2026, Vaqt.uz, citing data from the iHamkor.uz portal, reported that the club suffered a loss of 50.8 billion soums at the end of 2025. The team's expenses amounted to 128.9 billion soums, and tax debt reached 17.1 billion soums. For comparison, in 2024, the club ended the year with a net profit of 36.9 billion soums.
In addition, during the summer, sports media wrote about delays in paying salaries to football players and team staff. According to their data, payments had not been made since May. Meanwhile, the club's management did not publicly comment on these reports.
In August, information also emerged that entrepreneur Jahongir Artykhodjaev had stopped financially supporting the team. However, this information was not officially confirmed. At the same time, it was reported that the club's accumulated debts had already been cleared by then.
