Tashkent and Mauritius will be connected by direct flights for the first time

The launch of this route was announced during a bilateral open dialogue between representatives of the tourism businesses of Uzbekistan and Mauritius. Following the first departure in January, four more flights are planned, with a transition to regular weekly flights starting in June 2027.

Before the introduction of direct service, passengers from Uzbekistan mostly traveled to the island with layovers in Dubai or Istanbul. Including connections, the entire journey took about 14–17 hours. Now, travel time will be cut approximately in half: a direct flight from Tashkent to Mauritius will take about 8.5 hours.

The reverse tourist flow has remained extremely small until now. One of the main limiting factors was the lack of direct transport connections: tourists had to choose complex and lengthy routes with layovers.

The new route is also planned to be used for transit traffic. In the future, passengers from Kazakhstan, Russia, and other CIS countries will be able to fly to Mauritius via Tashkent.
