Tashkent – Mauritius: Direct flights to start in December

Starting December 26, 2026, direct flights will launch between Tashkent and Mauritius (East Africa). The initial phase includes one flight on December 26 and four more in January 2027. From June of the following year, there are plans to transition the route to a regular schedule with one flight per week.

The launch of the new destination was announced at a meeting of tourism business representatives from Uzbekistan and Mauritius, which took place today in Tashkent with the participation of the Tourism Committee.

Mauritius is an island nation in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. The new direct route is expected to facilitate travel between the two countries and increase tourism exchange.

For Uzbekistan, Mauritius is also viewed as a new market for inbound tourism. At the same time, it will become easier for citizens of Mauritius to travel to Uzbekistan to visit Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.

Another goal of the new route is to attract transit passengers. In the future, tourists from Kazakhstan, Russia, and other countries of Central Asia and the CIS will be able to fly to Mauritius via Tashkent.

Thus, Tashkent is counting on an increase in the number of transit passengers and the strengthening of its position as a regional aviation hub.
