Direct flights from Tashkent to Manchester may be launched
As part of expanding air links between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom, the possibility of establishing direct flights from Tashkent to Manchester was discussed. This issue was considered during a meeting between the Uzbek Ambassador and the management of Manchester Airports Group (MAG).
Direct flights between Tashkent and Manchester may be launched. This issue was discussed during a meeting between Uzbek Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov and MAG Corporate Affairs Director Rhys Walley. During the talks, the prospects for developing transport links between the two countries and opening direct flights on the Tashkent-Manchester route were considered.
The British side noted that Manchester Airport is one of the largest transport and logistics centers in the north of the country and Northern Europe. More than 32 million passengers pass through this airport annually, and the existing infrastructure will allow this figure to be increased to 70 million in the future.
During the talks, the rapid development of the aviation sector in Uzbekistan and the expanding capabilities of local airlines were noted as important factors for opening this route.
Rees Walley noted that the new flight will serve to strengthen business and tourism ties between the two countries, as well as expand Uzbekistan's transit air connectivity with Europe. He expressed his readiness to support Uzbek airlines and provide the necessary assistance in implementing the project.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to closely cooperate on resolving organizational issues related to the establishment of direct flights.
