Taliban wants to close law and two other majors at private universities

The Taliban is abolishing law, political science and international relations programs at private universities.

The Taliban movement has ordered private universities in Afghanistan to gradually eliminate law, political science and international relations programs. This was reported in a document obtained by Hashti Subh Daily.

According to the document, this decision was discussed and approved by the Taliban Leadership Council. The Taliban explained its decision with two main reasons:

* Low interest of students in these faculties.

* Insufficient job opportunities for graduates.

According to the decision, private universities are instructed to offer alternative programs instead of these programs. The Academic Programs Development Department should also offer new programs that are suitable.

The new courses are expected to attract more applicants and provide graduates with wider job opportunities. Medicine and dentistry are not affected by this ban.

Earlier, it was reported that the Taliban had banned all types of demonstrations in Afghanistan with a new law. The “Police Law” approved by Haibatullah Akhundzada expanded the tasks of the security forces and established a number of strict restrictions and rules for personnel and the population.
