Taekwondo athlete of the national team of Uzbekistan Jasurbek Jaysunov has been nominated as a candidate for the Athletes' Commission of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). Taekwondo athlete Jasurbek Jaysunov nominated for the Athletes' Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia
Uzbekistan national taekwondo team member Jasurbek Jaysunov has become a candidate for the Athletes' Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
The athlete will represent the Central Asian region in the elections. The voting will take place during the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan and will be held from September 20 to October 2.
Jaysunov is a medalist of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and competes for the national WT taekwondo team of Uzbekistan.
In addition to the representative of Uzbekistan, Kazakh climber Amir Maimuratov and Iranian taekwondo athlete Arian Salimi, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion, are also vying for seats on the OCA Athletes' Committee.
Athletes directly participating in the 2026 Asian Games will have the right to vote in the elections.
The OCA Athletes' Committee represents the interests of athletes and participates in discussions on issues related to the development of sports and the holding of competitions in Asia.
