"SQB" wins the Uzbekistan Super Cup for the first time
The "SQB PFC" team has won the Uzbekistan Futsal Super Cup for the first time in its history, defeating the reigning national champion "BMB PFC" in a penalty shootout. The match took place at the "Humo Arena" sports complex in Tashkent and kicked off the 2026/2027 season.
Regular time ended in a 3-3 draw, after which the fate of the trophy was decided in a penalty shootout. "SQB" proved to be more precise, winning 4-2.
"BMB" started the game actively and created several dangerous moments near Shavkat Ibragimov's goal in the opening minutes. The "SQB" goalkeeper saved his team multiple times, while in several instances, the hosts lacked accuracy in finishing their attacks.
However, "SQB's" very first counterattack resulted in a goal. In the second minute, Samariddin Berkinov intercepted the ball in the center of the pitch, advanced along the flank, and passed to Davlat Ibragimov, who opened the scoring with a precise shot — 0-1.
The early goal allowed "SQB" to play more confidently on counterattacks. The team's strengthening was also aided by the transfers of Davlat Ibragimov and Hebbert Oliveira Bolt, who had played for "BMB" over the past four seasons and contributed to its successes.
In the second half, the teams continued to play at a high tempo. Following goals by Timur Salimov and Bolt, "SQB" extended their lead to 3-1.
"BMB" managed to restore parity. Jean Aldemiro scored twice, and Vitor's goal allowed the reigning champion to level the score and take the match to a penalty shootout.
In the penalty shootout, the skill of Shavkat Ibragimov once again proved decisive. The "SQB" goalkeeper saved two of the opponents' shots, helping his team win 4-2 and claim the trophy.
Thus, "SQB PFC" began the 2026/2027 season with a victory in the Uzbekistan Super Cup, winning this trophy for the first time in the club's history.
