On October 6–8, the 27th meeting of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council on Seed Production of the Commonwealth of Independent States and an international conference were held in the city of Avaza, Turkmenistan. A delegation led by Shuhrat G‘aniyev, State Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan on Agricultural Development Issues, participated in it.

During the meeting, issues of expanding agricultural cooperation between the CIS countries, improving breeding and modern seed production systems were discussed. Also, plans for interstate specialization and supply of agricultural crop seeds and seedlings for 2027–2028 were reviewed.

Within the framework of the event, Shuhrat G‘aniyev was presented with the Certificate of Honor of the CIS Intergovernmental Coordinating Council for his contribution to the development of interstate relations in the field of seed production.

Shuhrat G‘aniyev met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Tangriguli Ataxalliyev. During the conversation, issues of exporting high-yielding agricultural crop seeds, organizing mutual testing of new varieties, and exchanging advanced experiences were discussed.

At the meeting held with the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Ziyozoda Sulaymon Rizoyi, agreements were reached on practical mechanisms of cooperation in the field of seed production.

In particular, the issues of transferring Uzbekistan's achievements in agriculture and new agrotechnologies to Tajikistan were reviewed.

The meetings also focused on areas such as implementing joint projects, establishing experimental fields, and jointly testing new seed varieties.

At the international conference, issues of adaptation to climate change, creating and implementing drought- and disease-resistant, high-yielding varieties were discussed. Experiences on digitizing the seed production system and strengthening quality control were exchanged.

Also, prospects for expanding the export of local seed materials under the "Uzbek seeds" national brand were reviewed. The event participants paid special attention to the issues of aligning national seed production systems with international standards, using digital technologies, and strengthening interstate cooperation on breeding and seed production within the CIS.
