Sherzod Asadov called on foreign journalists not just to praise Uzbekistan, but to see it with their own eyes.

Sherzod Asadov, the president's press secretary, called on foreign journalists to go beyond praise for Uzbekistan and to witness the changes taking place for themselves. He urged them to explore the country for themselves, engage with local residents, and objectively inform the international community about the processes taking place in Uzbekistan. This statement was made at the international media forum "Islamic Civilization: A New Look, New Discoveries," which was held in Tashkent.

"We urge you not to simply speak highly of Uzbekistan, but to see it for yourself, talk to people, ask questions, and draw your own conclusions. For us, openness is not a temporary measure, but a strategic choice," Asadov emphasized.

He noted that in the modern world, journalism plays a key role in shaping a country's international image. At the same time, he added, journalists must strictly adhere to the facts and avoid politicizing complex issues.

"The task of journalism is not to politicize complex issues, but to provide impartial coverage," the presidential press secretary stated.

Asadov also touched on the transformation of the information space. He noted that while news instantly reaches millions of people, the spread of disinformation, manipulation, and deepfakes is simultaneously growing.

"Regardless of technological changes, the main criteria of journalism remain truth, objectivity, conscience, and human interests," he emphasized.

According to Asadov, artificial intelligence does not diminish the importance of journalists; on the contrary, it opens up new opportunities. Modern professionals must master digital tools, work with video, visualization, infographics, and other formats, while maintaining responsibility for the accuracy of information.

The presidential press secretary paid special attention to Uzbekistan's rich historical heritage. He emphasized that it must not only be preserved but also presented to a global audience using modern technology.

Asadov also noted the significant contributions of Al-Khwarizmi, Beruni, Ibn Sina, Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Imam Maturidi, and Mirzo Ulugh Beg to the development of global science and culture.

"Islamic civilization is, first and foremost, a civilization of knowledge and enlightenment, thinking and development," Asadov stated.

He also emphasized the role of national media in the country's development.

"National media, acting as a bridge between the state and society, are an important force contributing to the development of our country, protecting human rights, and presenting our future achievements to the world," the presidential press secretary noted.

Concluding his speech, Asadov called on forum participants to utilize journalism as a tool for professional dialogue and strengthening mutual understanding between countries and peoples.
