Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the reconstructed "Turon" stadium

During his visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the reconstructed "Turon" stadium in the city of Nukus.

The renovation of the complex has created new opportunities for the development of mass and professional football in the region, the selection of talented youth, and raising the level of preparation of athletes. These works were carried out on the basis of the tasks defined in the President's decree dated April 7, 2023, "On additional measures for the comprehensive development of mass and professional football."

The total cost of the project is 118.6 billion soums. Permanent employment for 85 people was provided at the complex. Upon completion of the reconstruction, the stadium's capacity was increased from 9.3 thousand to 12 thousand seats.

The "Turon" stadium serves as the base for the "Aral" professional football club. Here, 190 students of the Republican Football Academy regularly conduct training sessions and training camps. The complex also includes two sports halls and two additional stadiums.

A 196-bed dormitory, an 84-seat cafeteria, gyms, and tactical analysis rooms have been established for the academy's students. Conditions have also been created for 100-150 athletes to train simultaneously in athletics, boxing, and taekwondo.

Special platforms for the media, installation points for offside cameras, and a separate zone for a centralized VAR system were established at the stadium. This infrastructure will serve to host and broadcast competitions at a high level.

The head of state familiarized himself with the conditions in the complex and gave recommendations and instructions on the development of sports, particularly football, in Karakalpakstan.

The President had a warm conversation with the young athletes training there and took a commemorative photo with them.
