Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Vladimir Putin on holding the State Duma elections

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a letter to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, in which he congratulated him on the successful holding of the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia.

The elections of deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation were held in Russia from September 18 to 20. As of September 21, the vote count is still ongoing.

According to preliminary data after processing 95.22% of the protocols, "United Russia" receives 57.83% of the votes. The CPRF gains 13.80%, the LDPR — 8.98%, "New People" — 7.96%. "A Just Russia" receives 4.96% of the votes. The turnout, according to the Central Election Commission of Russia, was 59.32%.

In his letter, Mirziyoyev noted that, in his assessment, the past elections demonstrated a high level of political culture and civic consolidation of Russian society. The letter separately highlighted the record voter turnout and the voting results.

Mirziyoyev also stated that these indicators testify to the high trust of Russian citizens in the strategic course implemented under the leadership of Vladimir Putin. The letter says that this course is aimed at continuing the socio-economic development of the country and protecting national interests.

The President of Uzbekistan paid special attention to bilateral relations. He noted the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.

According to Mirziyoyev, inter-parliamentary cooperation occupies an important place in relations between the two countries. As noted in the letter, it should continue to contribute to the implementation of joint projects and programs.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that through joint efforts, the countries will be able to give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation and fill it with new initiatives.
