President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded his trip to the Kashkadarya region with a visit to Karshi State University. The head of state got acquainted with the conditions created here and then returned to Tashkent.

According to the presidential press service, more than 14 thousand students are enrolled in bachelor's and master's degree programs at the university. The university staff includes 579 teachers. The areas of English philology, mathematics, applied mathematics, and physics have received international accreditation. In addition, 14 educational programs are being implemented jointly with universities in Russia and Belarus.

A media studio with one thousand seats and centers for Chinese, German, French, English, and Russian languages have been opened at the Faculty of Languages. Research in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics is being conducted at the International Laboratory Center.

Last year, major construction and reconstruction work was carried out at the university. Three new dormitories provided over 1.3 thousand additional places, fully meeting the need for student housing.

A 240-seat kindergarten, a library, canteens, a youth center, and a conference palace operate on the university grounds. The "Lochin" football team was created under the university, for which a modern pitch was built. The president also got acquainted with the operation of the student service center.

Earlier, Mirziyoyev stated that Kashkadarya could become one of the country's leading regions in one to two years. To achieve this, according to the head of state, district khokims and banks must create an environment where knowledge is encouraged, opportunities for work are provided, and initiatives are supported.
