55 billion soums allocated for infrastructure development in the Chim mahalla of Kashkadarya region
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Chim mahalla of Kamashi district in the Kashkadarya region. He reviewed how infrastructure is being updated, jobs are being created, and conditions for young people are being improved. As reported by the press service of the head of state, 55 billion soums were directed toward the development of the mahalla.
More than 5.5 thousand people live in Chim, and almost half of them are young people. A kindergarten for 240 children and a school for 640 pupils were built here. In addition, mahalla and youth centers were opened, and a recreation park was landscaped. Furthermore, 4.5 km of roads were paved, and power supply and irrigation systems were modernized.
During a visit to the library, the president spoke with young people. In connection with Uzbek Language Day, he recalled the works of Abdulla Oripov, Erkin Vahidov, and Halima Khudoyberdiyeva.
"Today we treat our language, self-awareness, and identity with even greater respect. People are striving to read books again. We are reviving the spiritual heritage of our ancestors. Such a spiritual atmosphere and conditions are also being created in the Chim mahalla of the Kamashi district," the head of state noted.
Mirziyoyev also pointed out that opportunities for higher education are expanding in the country. According to him, while previously only 9 out of 100 young people graduated from universities, now this figure has reached 45.
"But for the future of Uzbekistan, specialists possessing national pride and a love for their Motherland are required. I believe in you. The future of our beloved Motherland and Kashkadarya is in your hands," the president said.
Entrepreneurship is being developed and new jobs are being created in the mahalla. 3.5 billion soums were invested in a carpet-weaving and embroidery enterprise. It provides employment for women. With bank support, greenhouses with a total area of 36 hundred square meters were built in almost 20 households. A 200-ton cold storage facility was also opened to store produce.
Thanks to these measures, more than 80 unemployed residents secured jobs. Another direction is growing lemons based on a cooperative model. Residents are provided with seedlings, fertilizers, and agrotechnical services, and the harvest is purchased at a guaranteed price. Planting potatoes, broccoli, and greens between trees brings each greenhouse an additional 14–16 million soums in income.
In Chim, 70 entrepreneurs expanded their businesses, and 20 new enterprises began operations. The number of service sector facilities along the highway increased from 31 to 137. More than 200 jobs were created here. In addition, 1.2 thousand households in Chim and neighboring mahallas cultivate marsh mallow for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
Following the visit, the president met with mahalla activists and representatives of the older generation. They spoke about the changes in Chim and wished prosperity to the country and a bright future for the youth.
