Shavkat Mirziyoyev has concluded his state visit to South Korea
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has concluded his state visit to the Republic of Korea and departed from Seoul for Tashkent.
During the trip, Mirziyoyev held talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in both narrow and expanded formats. At the meetings, the parties discussed the further strengthening of relations of special strategic partnership.
In addition, the President of Uzbekistan met with the Speaker of the National Assembly Cho Jung-sik, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, as well as with the heads of leading Korean companies and financial institutions.
During the Uzbek-Korean Business Forum, joint projects were launched, the construction of a number of facilities began, and a package of agreements was signed.
Mirziyoyev also participated in the first "Central Asia — Republic of Korea" summit, where he put forward initiatives in five strategic areas of cooperation. Furthermore, the President spoke at the first business summit within this format.
Separately, during the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the Uzbek diaspora living in South Korea.
Following the conclusion of the visit's program, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his spouse were seen off at Seoul airport by the Minister of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Ho-jung, and other officials.
The President of Uzbekistan has departed for Tashkent.
