Seven foreign terms will be replaced with Uzbek equivalents
It is planned to replace seven foreign terms used in Uzbek legislation with their Uzbek equivalents. In particular, "traffic light" will be called "yolchiroq", "parol" will be called "oron", and "avans" will be called "bo'nak".

On August 11, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis approved in the second and third readings a law that provides for the replacement of certain foreign terms used in legislation with their Uzbek equivalents.

It is noted that these changes are aimed at standardizing concepts and legal terms in legislative documents, as well as eliminating ambiguities in their application.
After adoption by the Legislative Chamber, the law will be sent to the Senate.
