Saida Mirziyoyeva visited the "Uzbekfilm" film studio
The head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, visited the "Uzbekfilm" film studio and familiarized herself with its current state and activities. It was noted that the studio needs to be transformed into a national brand and a cornerstone of the modern Uzbek film industry.
It is reported that for nearly a century, "Uzbekfilm" has been a national cinematic hub reflecting the history, destiny, dreams, and experiences of the people on screen. Now, the task is to develop the studio's activities based on modern requirements.
To achieve this, it was emphasized that the management system in the film sector needs to be changed. The state should not be a client that interferes in the creative process of filmmaking, but rather a strategic partner that develops and financially supports the industry. Private film studios, independent producers, and creators must become the main driving force of the film industry.
It was also stated that the systems of financing, distribution, screening, festivals, and export—from film production to delivery to the audience—need to be updated based on modern requirements. It was proposed to focus on preserving the national cinematic heritage, restoring and digitizing films, training a new generation of creators, and expanding international experience exchange.
Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized the importance of shaping a professional environment and a culture of self-governance in the field, as well as properly valuing the opinions, experience, and professional reputation of filmmakers.
During the visit, she also went to the set of a historical film being shot about the childhood of Abu Ali ibn Sina. Having familiarized herself with the massive sets and the work of the creative team, she wished the team success.
