Safety measures will be strengthened on Uzbekistan's bodies of water: the Ministry of Emergency Situations will train rescue divers

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan has been instructed to organize the training of rescue divers to staff a specialized rescue squad. This is provided for by the decree of the head of state "On measures to streamline the use of reservoir territories and adjacent zones, as well as to ensure safety on them."

The training will be conducted in the field of vocational education "Conducting search and rescue operations on water bodies" based on a dual system at the Rescuer Training Technical School under the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In addition, the agency is mandated to train employees of tourist facilities, volunteer rescuers, and young volunteers in the rules of conduct in emergency situations and the provision of first aid.

The decree also provides for the improvement of the risk assessment and emergency prevention system. The development of safety profiles will become mandatory for tourist facilities located on bodies of water, reservoirs, and adjacent territories.

Risk assessments will take into account the threats of mudflows, floods, dam accidents, landslides, fires, and other natural and man-made incidents. These measures are aimed at improving tourist safety and reducing the likelihood of emergency situations.
