"We have one strategic priority — we need to invest in the people of Uzbekistan. This is the strategic priority that we have defined together with the government. And it is about education, healthcare, social protection, the environment, the rule of law — everything that concerns people,"

she stated.

As Sabine Machl noted, this priority aligns with the directions of the "Uzbekistan — 2030" strategy. She emphasized that it is important not only to make decisions at the national level, but also to ensure their implementation on the ground.

"This work must reach the mahalla level. It must also be carried out at the district level — with the participation of khokims, civil society, the media, and other parties,"

she said.

Responding to a question about the Sustainable Development Goals, Sabine Machl reported that Uzbekistan is showing progress on 45% of them.

Sabine Machl also emphasized the need to continue working on creating new jobs.

Speaking about Central Asia, Sabine Machl noted the strengthening of relations between the countries of the region and the development of dialogue between them.

According to her, the deepening of ties with neighboring states and the expansion of cooperation is a positive factor.

Among the key regional issues, she named climate change and related water resource issues.

Sabine Machl emphasized that cooperation between the countries of the region is necessary to solve these problems.

Speaking about education, Sabine Machl noted Uzbekistan's progress in ensuring access to education.

She called education practically universal, while emphasizing the importance of further work on its quality.

According to the UN Resident Coordinator, teachers and their professional skills play an important role here. She emphasized the need for continuous training and development of educators.

Separately, Sabine Machl focused on issues of gender equality.
