Russian footballer Artem Dzyuba has announced the end of his professional career. The 38-year-old striker shared this in an interview with the media.
The athlete noted that his career has effectively come to an end, although he does not plan to make an official announcement. According to him, the only remaining chance for him to take the field is a possible participation in Russian Cup matches as part of one of the media teams. The forward's last club was Akron Togliatti, which he played for starting in 2024, after which he was left without a team.
Artem Dzyuba is the record holder for the number of goals scored in the history of Russian football and the national team. Throughout his career, he played for clubs such as Spartak, Tom, Rostov, Arsenal Tula, Turkey's Adana Demirspor, and Lokomotiv.
The striker achieved his greatest success with Zenit, with whom he became a four-time Russian champion, and also won the Russian Cup three times and the Russian Super Cup four times. The forward played 56 matches for the Russian national team, appearing at the 2016 and 2021 European Championships and the home 2018 World Cup.
