Ronaldo hints at retirement at end of season

Al-Nassr and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that this year could be his last as a professional footballer. The 41-year-old has spoken about his future plans in an interview with Vogue magazine.

"This will most likely be my last year as a footballer and I want to leave a great legacy," Ronaldo said.

The forward also gave a detailed answer to the question of what he will do after his career ends.

"I want to spend more time relaxing, traveling, watching and playing padel, which I love, and enjoying what we have achieved. In any case, it has been 25 years of sacrifices," the Portuguese added.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored a total of 976 goals in a 20-year career. He is currently playing for Al-Nassr, aiming to reach 1,000 goals.

For reference, Ronaldo made his debut for Sporting in 2002. He has also played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr, winning many major trophies. Only winning the World Cup with Portugal remains the only major achievement among the player's trophies that has not been achieved.
