The Russian Il-114-300 aircraft successfully completed a series of tests in Uzbekistan, demonstrating its performance in extreme heat conditions, Rostec announced.
According to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a Rostec subsidiary, specialists tested all aircraft systems at ground temperatures reaching 42°C.
"The results obtained will be submitted to the aircraft registry, which will allow the current type certificate to be expanded," the statement read.
During the test program, the Il-114-300 completed 22 flights, logging over 30 hours in the air. Upon completion of the program, the aircraft returned to Russia independently, having covered over 2,600 kilometers without stopovers.
Five aborted takeoffs were also conducted. To test safety in emergency situations, brakes simulating extreme wear were used. The domestic TV7-117ST-01 engines and digital avionics have also proven their reliability and performance.
The basic certificate for the Il-114-300 was issued by Rosaviatsiya in the summer of 2026. The aircraft is designed for operation in a variety of climates, from arctic to subtropical, including at poorly equipped airfields with short runways.
In August of this year, the first deliveries of Il-114-300 passenger aircraft to regional airlines began in Russia, according to First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. The first batch will be delivered to the Arkhangelsk Air Squadron. Domestic demand is estimated at approximately 40 such aircraft. Production volumes are planned to increase to 12 units per year.
