The Il-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft completed a series of tests in Uzbekistan, where it was subjected to air temperatures up to +42°C. These tests were conducted by specialists from JSC Ilyushin, a subsidiary of Rostec's United Aircraft Corporation, to expand the aircraft's type certificate.
The tests took place in Bukhara, where experts assessed the aircraft's system functionality and takeoff and landing performance in hot climates. The program included 22 flights, with the Il-114-300 spending over 30 hours in the air.
Particular attention was paid to takeoff and landing performance. Specifically, specialists performed five aborted takeoffs, including those conducted using specially prepared brakes simulating extremely worn brake discs.
The data obtained will be submitted to aviation authorities for further analysis and appropriate amendments to the type certificate. According to Rostec, the test results in Bukhara will be considered in conjunction with the data obtained during the aircraft's testing in extremely low temperatures in Yakutia.
Following the testing, the Il-114-300 prototype returned to Russia, flying nonstop from Bukhara to the Gromov Flight Research Institute airfield in Zhukovsky, near Moscow.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov emphasized that high-temperature testing is a key step in expanding the aircraft's type certificate. He stated that the obtained results should confirm the Il-114-300's suitability for operation in a wider range of climatic conditions. In the summer of 2026, the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia issued a type certificate for the Il-114-300. This document confirms the aircraft's compliance with established airworthiness standards and stated technical specifications, and paves the way for the start of serial production.
Serial production of the aircraft is planned at the Lukhovitsy Aviation Plant. According to Rostec, three production aircraft are currently at various stages of completion.
The Il-114-300 is designed for regional air travel and can operate in a variety of climatic conditions—from Arctic regions and Siberia to hot climates. The aircraft can operate from small airfields, including those with short runways. The aircraft is equipped with domestic TV7-117ST-01 engines developed by the United Engine Corporation of Rostec, as well as domestic avionics and a digital flight and navigation system.
