Russia resumes attacks on Kyiv, while Ukraine strikes Saratov (video)
On the night of September 8, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the city of Kyiv. On the same day, Ukrainian drones attacked the Saratov region.
According to information provided by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, administrative buildings, warehouses, educational institutions, and residential buildings were damaged in six districts of the capital. Two people were killed and ten others were injured as a result of the Russian strikes. Doctors assess the condition of two of the victims as serious.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, the attack on Kyiv involved various types of missiles and jet drones that are difficult to shoot down. Russian troops had not attacked Kyiv between September 5 and 7 — during the visit of US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Ukraine.
According to Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin, several private houses were damaged as a result of the drone attack. A total of 10 people, including three children, were injured, six of whom were hospitalized. Temporary accommodation centers have been set up for the residents.
Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ reported that the drones struck the Saratov oil refinery. It is also claimed that a military airfield in the city of Engels was targeted.
On the morning of September 8, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 384 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed overnight in the skies over Russian territory and annexed Crimea.
