He announced this in an interview with the Euronews TV channel regarding his visit.

Rubio: US entering Central Asia through long-term agreements

In Samarkand, the US Secretary of State provided information on plans to conclude new trade deals and cooperate in the field of critical strategic minerals.

According to Marco Rubio, American companies are preparing to announce new agreements in Uzbekistan as Washington seeks to expand its economic presence in Central Asia and diversify its supply sources of strategically important critical minerals.

Speaking to journalists during his visit to Samarkand, Rubio stressed that these agreements could lay the groundwork for broader US engagement with the region. In his view, American policymakers have so far not paid sufficient attention to Central Asia.

"I think we will be able to announce several concrete deals that have been struck," Rubio said.

According to him, American companies are showing interest in operating in Uzbekistan. Reports on these agreements will be announced after the meetings within the framework of the forum.

"This is not the end. This is the beginning," Rubio added.
