Rockfalls collapse onto a highway in Surkhandarya Region

Rockfalls have hit the 75V040 highway in the Uzun District of Surkhandarya Region. The incident occurred on October 24 at around 03:30 on the section between the 21st and 22nd kilometers of the route.

According to the khokimiyat of Surkhandarya Region, personnel from the district emergency situations department, employees of the state road service, and special equipment were deployed to clear the road. By 07:30, the section was completely cleared of rocks.

No one was injured in the incident, no damage to vehicles was recorded, and traffic along the road was fully restored.

Earlier in Kashkadarya Region, a mudflow washed away a Damas vehicle carrying two people. The driver managed to get out, but the passenger in the car died.
