Representatives of six countries to discuss the development of the "Air Silk Road" and new air routes in Tashkent

From November 3 to 5, the Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel in the capital will host the 3rd conference of the "Central Asia – China" (C5+1) Civil Aviation Cooperation Working Group. Representatives of aviation administrations and airlines from Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan will take part in the event.

The main objective of the meeting is the further development of interaction in civil aviation between the countries of the region and China, the implementation of previously reached agreements, and the identification of new promising areas of cooperation. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of tasks within the framework of the agreement on the joint creation of the "Air Silk Road", signed on January 24, 2024, between the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

In addition, the participants will consider deepening cooperation in priority areas of the industry, launching joint projects, liberalizing the air transport market, harmonizing the regulatory framework, and expanding the geography of regional flights. The conference also schedules bilateral consultations on the development of air communication between the participating countries, the opening of new routes, and increasing the frequency of existing flights.

The idea of holding such meetings regularly on a rotating basis in the six states was proposed on the initiative of the Chinese side. The first C5+1 conference took place in 2024 in China, and the second in 2025 in Kazakhstan. This year, Uzbekistan serves as the host country.
