During his visit to Bukhara Region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in launch ceremonies for new facilities and the start of construction on promising projects.

Projects worth 7.8 billion USD launched in Bukhara region
Bukhara has been known for centuries as a center of science, culture, and craftsmanship. Today, the creative traditions inherited from our ancestors continue in the development of modern production, entrepreneurship, and tourism.
The head of our state noted that over the past nine years, 9.5 billion dollars of foreign investment have been attracted to the region, and more than 6 thousand new production capacities as well as 120 thousand permanent jobs have been created. These indicators are reflected in the increase of employment and population income, as well as local enterprises entering new markets.
– Today's Bukhara is rapidly turning from a great history toward an era of new development and grand projects,
A program consisting of 145 projects with a total value of 7.8 billion dollars has been prepared in the fields of petrochemicals, textiles, building materials, mechanical engineering, energy, mining industry, pharmaceuticals, digital technologies, logistics, agriculture, food, housing construction, infrastructure, services, and tourism. Of these, 55 projects worth 654 million dollars are being launched, and the construction of another 90 projects worth 7.1 billion dollars is beginning.
Investors from the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Vietnam, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and India, the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, as well as local entrepreneurs are participating in the projects.
Once implemented, it is expected that more than 14 thousand jobs will be created, products worth 22 trillion soums per year will be produced, and an export potential of 510 million dollars will be generated.
– Our goal is one – to produce import-substituting products that are in high demand in foreign markets,
Large capacities are also being established in the energy sector of the region. In recent years, 2 billion dollars have been attracted to "green" energy, commissioning 1 thousand megawatts of wind and 750 megawatts of solar power plants, as well as 63-megawatt energy storage systems. A total of 601 kilometers of main power transmission lines have been laid.
In Gijduvan, the construction of the 300-megawatt "Bosh-2" wind power plant with the company "ACWA", and in Jondor and Peshku, wind power plants with a total capacity of 1 thousand megawatts with the participation of "Toyota Corporation" and "Sinoma" companies are ongoing. It is planned to implement a 165 million dollar project aimed at generating electricity from household waste in Kaghan district with Chinese partners, and to launch a 150 million dollar project with the German company "Leman" to ensure the stable operation of the pump stations of the "Amu-Bukhara" canal.
Relying on the region's experience in cotton growing, modern textile clusters are being developed. A textile complex with a production capacity of 62 thousand tons of products per year will be built in the city of Bukhara under the "Kurt Baver" brand. In Romitan, a cotton-textile cluster worth 400 million dollars is being established with the participation of Chinese investors. Within the framework of these projects, an initiative to develop 9 thousand hectares of land has also been put forward. As a result, it is intended to bring the share of high-value-added products to 65 percent and create an additional 100 million dollars in export potential.
Tourism is another important direction of Bukhara's development.
– The harmony of ancient monuments, cultural heritage, and modern infrastructure is turning Bukhara into a favorite destination for tourists. The newly built Bukhara Tourism Center, where today's event is taking place, serves this noble goal,
The "Eternal Bukhara" cultural-ethnographic park, an exhibition hall, modern hotels, and cultural and entertainment venues will be built at the center. In addition, it is planned to establish hotels under the international brands "Indigo", "Holiday Inn", and "Hilton" in the city of Bukhara.
– In general, we are starting 19 large projects worth 3 billion dollars in Bukhara. If we organize this work systematically, we can easily ensure the export of tourism services worth 5 billion dollars in Bukhara alone,
In the next five years, the goal is to fully provide the population of Bukhara region with drinking water, and major cities and district centers with a sewerage network. Two large projects with a total value of 633 million dollars have been started with international partners. Due to them, the water supply for 2 million residents will improve, and 781 thousand residents will have access to drinking water for the first time.
In addition, seven road projects worth 565 million dollars, aimed at increasing the region's transit potential threefold, will be implemented.
Our President pressed the symbolic button, launching the new facilities and giving the start to the construction of promising projects. A dialogue with foreign investors took place.
Right there, the head of our state listened to reports from officials regarding the thorough preparation of Bukhara's infrastructure for the summits planned to be held in 2027 and gave relevant instructions.
