Prevention inspectors may appear in private schools and universities of Uzbekistan
Positions of prevention inspectors and psychology inspectors of internal affairs bodies may be introduced in non-governmental educational institutions of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has submitted the corresponding draft for public discussion.
According to the document, private universities will be able to hire senior prevention inspectors and senior inspectors for women's affairs at their own expense. It is proposed to introduce positions of psychology inspectors for juvenile affairs in general secondary and specialized secondary education organizations.
Their task will be to prevent offenses, violence, bullying, drug addiction, and the spread of extremist ideas among students. In addition, inspectors will conduct preventive and psychological work with at-risk children together with teachers, psychologists, and parents.
The draft provides for special measures. During these measures, it is planned to identify schoolchildren who skip classes without good reason, are in entertainment venues at night without parents, or visit public places during school hours. In universities, inspectors will prevent the smuggling of prohibited items and substances, as well as the spread of extremist ideas.
In addition, they will participate in suicide prevention, protecting children from violence, and organizing students' leisure time. In private universities, they also plan to check the living conditions of students in dormitories and rented housing.
Public discussion of the draft will last until November 3.
