A unified system for monitoring student attendance, security, and employment will be introduced in Uzbekistan's universities
In the student campus of Tashkent, a system is being tested that will integrate data on attendance, entry and exit from universities and dormitories, offenses, employment, and contract issues. By the end of the year, there are plans to expand it to other districts of the capital, and in 2027, to all universities in the country.

In the higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, there are plans to create a unified campus management system and strengthen security. This was discussed on September 11 at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the authorities, 75,000 students study simultaneously in the Almazar district. About 18,000 young people live in 41 dormitories of seven universities.
To manage living conditions, improve the areas around dormitories, develop green zones and book cafes, as well as organize cultural events, a separate directorate is planned to be established.
In addition, separate officials responsible for student education and upbringing, their employment, social support, and women's issues will appear in the "youth" campus.
"Currently, services and management in each university are organized differently, which leads to unnecessary labor and expenses. Therefore, it is necessary to create a unified directorate here and introduce a 'smart' management system following the example of foreign, including European, universities," he said.
According to the minister, one of the main tasks of the new system is the prevention of crime among youth.
"Special attention is now being paid to security issues. The President was presented with the 'Safe City', 'Safe Campus' situational center. To reduce crime on campus, 'smart' cameras will be installed, and a system will be created to monitor any offenses on the territory," Sharipov stated.
In the first phase, the project covers four universities on the campus.
Sharipov also announced the creation of a unified platform designed to integrate data on crime, class attendance, tuition payment issues, employment, and student occupation. "The President approved the project. In the future, this platform is planned to be turned into a unified system covering all higher education institutions," the minister said.
At the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year, 741.5 thousand students were enrolled in full-time education in 202 universities of Uzbekistan. About 441 thousand lived at home or with relatives, 146 thousand in dormitories, including those built under PPPs. More than 152 thousand students, or about 20.5%, rented accommodation.
