In the city of Jizzakh, a man reportedly raped a 10-year-old child and then committed suicide.

The National Agency for Social Protection has issued an official response to this situation.

According to preliminary data, it was established that sexual violence was committed against a child born in 2016. A close relative of the victim reported this to the law enforcement agency.

It is reported that an inquiry and investigation are underway regarding the situation. The suspect, A.R., committed suicide after procedural actions.

An examination has been ordered for the case. Additional measures will be determined based on the results of the expert opinion.

Unofficial reports spread that a 28-year-old woman, an employee of a research institute in Russia's Irkutsk region, died of the highly infectious and dangerous plague.

Botir Qurbonov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health under the Ministry of Health, commented on the situation and stated that relevant precautionary measures have been strengthened.

"Plague is an extremely dangerous infectious disease that can be transmitted in various ways. The situation we are currently focusing on is the pneumonic form. This can be transmitted from person to person. That is, the disease can be transmitted through the air when a person exhales," he said.

He urged the population not to panic based on unconfirmed reports. Qurbonov noted that in the event of a potential threat, there are capabilities to isolate patients and respond quickly to the situation.

A presidential decree "On the establishment of a branch of the Liaoning Normal University of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.

According to the decree, a branch of Liaoning Normal University in Uzbekistan will be established in the Khorezm region.

The educational process will start from the 2026/2027 academic year and will be conducted in Uzbek, Chinese, or English. Studies will be organized in full-time and alternative forms of education.
