Pensions in Uzbekistan will be available for receipt on electronic wallets
Starting from April 2027, pension and other payments can be credited not only to a bank card, but also to an electronic wallet in a bank's mobile application. At the same time, employers will be required to maintain records in an electronic system regarding special work experience and working conditions that grant the right to a preferential pension.
Pensions in Uzbekistan will be available on electronic wallets
Starting from April 2027, pension payments in Uzbekistan will be available not only on bank cards but also on a special electronic wallet in the bank's mobile application. This is provided for by a presidential decree dated September 28.
Starting from November 1, 2026, services for opening bank cards for pensioners must be provided using Face ID biometric identification.
Starting from April 1, 2027, the Central Bank, together with commercial banks, must introduce a new procedure for financing pension payments through a single account of a commercial bank.
Pensions and other payments can be credited either to a bank card or to a pension electronic wallet opened in the bank's mobile application.
In addition, starting from January 1, 2027, citizens will be able to apply for the transfer of pension payments into cash form, as well as for the resumption of previously suspended payments, through public service centers or the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services.
Another innovation concerns employees entitled to a pension on preferential terms.
The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has been instructed to create, by November 1, 2026, a functionality within the interdepartmental software and hardware complex "Single National Labor System" for employers to maintain records of special work experience.
Employers will be required to electronically record periods of work that entitle employees to a preferential pension, as well as the results of workplace certification regarding working conditions and the degree of equipment hazard.
This should facilitate the verification of special work experience when assigning a pension and reduce the need to provide paper documents.
Separately, the "Uzarchive" agency has been instructed to accept, by April 1, 2027, documents of liquidated enterprises and organizations that were not previously transferred to state archives.
This refers, in particular, to payroll books, hiring and dismissal orders, and other documents that may be needed to confirm work experience and earnings.
As an exception, such documents will be accepted free of charge.
The "road map" also provides for the further integration of the Pension Fund's information systems with the databases of other departments. In particular, it is planned to automate the retrieval of archival records on work experience and wages, and to expand electronic data exchange with government agencies.
