Pensioners in Uzbekistan will be able to travel on trains with a 20% discount throughout November
Starting November 1, elderly residents of Uzbekistan will be able to purchase tickets for domestic trains with a 20% discount on the tariff portion of the cost. The benefit will be active throughout the entire month, but it does not apply to the "Afrosiyob" trains.
The right to the discount can be used by citizens of Uzbekistan — women over 55 and men over 60 who are pensioners. Discounted tickets can be purchased both at railway ticket offices and online.
This discount is provided twice a year: from October 2 to October 8 as part of the "Week of the Elderly" and from November 1 to November 30 during the "Tourism Month for the Elderly." Thus, the first discount period of this year ends today, October 8, and the next one will begin in just a few weeks.
In addition, starting October 1, Uzbekistan has expanded transport benefits for veterans, war participants, and liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster. They are eligible for free tickets or a 50% discount on rail, air, and intercity bus transport.
